This is the page of the Auger Monitoring starting the desctiption of the usage of the Monitoring DB.

MonDB usage

The European mirror at mondb.auger.uni-wuppertal.de is open for direct access to the monitoring DBs. You can connect using the standard Auger login/passwd. Some example on how to use:

 mysql -u beyond -p -h mondb.auger.uni-wuppertal.de

If you don't know the database or tables, the following mysql-commands can help (i hope they are self-explaining, and don't forget the closing “;”):

 mysql> show databases;
 mysql> use Lightning;
 mysql> show tables;
 mysql> describe LightningDetectionEvents;
 mysql> select * from LightningDetectionEvents order by GPSSec desc limit 10;

You can use the shell to directly insert queries:

echo 'select * from LightningDetectionEvents order by GPSSec desc limit 10;' | mysql -u beyond -p -h mondb.auger.uni-wuppertal.de Lightning

Use the shell to pipe the result into a file, without header ('-s'):

echo 'select * from LightningDetectionEvents order by GPSSec desc limit 10;' | mysql -u beyond -p -h mondb.auger.uni-wuppertal.de -s Lightning > LightningDetectionEvetns.dat

If you want to give the passwd on the command-line, give it after '-p' but without space, and you might need to escape special characters like '\!'.
